Elections for 2011 CBCC Board of Directors

July 28th, 2010 by jmangion

The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce holds elections for several positions on the CBCC Board of Directors each year. Annual elections are held in October for open board positions.

All CBCC members are eligible for nomination.

Board membership requires participation at the monthly meeting that is held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:45am at the Chamber office. Board members are also expected to attend Chamber sponsored events and serve on at least one committee. Directors receive no compensation and serve a term of three years.

The board consists of 18 voting members and 4 non-voting area liaison members. The board makes decisions for the Chamber regarding policy, establishes an annual budget and program of work, elects offices of the Chamber and manages staff.

If you are engaged in the community, care about your surroundings, want to keep business local and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and helping with events, then you’re exactly the person we are looking for. And if you don’t feel you fit this mold but know someone who does, let us know. You can call 251-947-2626 or visit www.centralbaldwin.com to fill out an application to be considered for nomination.

The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, like all large and small businesses, are always looking for ways to save money, work efficiently with the employee resources we have available to us and also help the environment. Beginning September 2010 our newsletter, “The Business Scene”, will be available electronically. Members will receive a link to view the newsletter archived on www.centralbaldwin.com .

Newsletter inserts will now be called “Spot Lights” and will be reduced in size to help keep our newsletter at a readable length. We can also link the “Spot Light” back to the member’s website.

For those who want a printed copy of the newsletter, copies will be available at the Chamber office.

Thank you for your understanding as we move toward going green.
